We are looking for a Team Leader to support our 30-year-old client (E) to live independently from her close-knit family.

E has suffered a stroke and an acquired brain injury. She enjoys listening to music, pilates, nights out to see live bands, going for a meal or spending time with her small fur babies. She is looking for a supportive Team Leader to manage her team and allow her to manage her anxiety and daily care.

The Female Team Leader Role:

We are looking for a Team Leader to join E’s care team and supervise her team as well as to provide direct support to her directly.  You will work one shift supporting E directly and a further shift to focus on Team Leader and admin tasks. During these shifts a Support Worker will also be present to support E’s care needs.

E has had epilepsy all her life that she manages with medication, but she suffered a stroke 6 years ago which has resulted in left-sided weakness, affecting her mobility (she is a part-time wheelchair user).  She is fully verbal and can become anxious at times and rigid in her thinking due to her brain injury.

You will assist E to access the community and will be required to provide assistance with tasks such as helping her with her contact lenses, hair and make up, helping her with her splints, setting up her catheter, running a bath for her, making her bed.  She needs some assistance with tasks which require fine motor skills such as opening lids.

You will be required to help prepare meals and there will be some light cleaning.

As Team Leader you will manage E’s rota, diary, supervise her team and work closely with her Case Manager, Therapists and family.

About You:

We are looking for a a patient, empathetic person who is able to calm E when she becomes anxious. You will be a caring, friendly, reliable and have a positive outlook on life as well as being flexible and a good timekeeper.

As E has pet rats and a hamster,  you will need to be an animal lover with no allergies.

Care experience in a Team Leader or Senior position is essential.  In addition, you will also need to be a driver able to drive our client’s automatic vehicle and take her to pilates classes, hydrotherapy and therapy sessions.
