Saturday Support Worker

Our lovely 30-year-old client who has complex disabilities, is looking for a Saturday Support Worker to join her established and friendly team. A is non-verbal and uses eye pointing and her own made-up signs (which her team get to know) to communicate. She is a sociable, happy-go-lucky and loving person with a great sense of humour.

The Role/Client:

A lives with her Mum in a fully-adapted family home with hoists. She loves spending time with her family and 3 small dogs. She enjoys being outside in nature, shopping and looking at family photos on her tablet. She loves to play games with her team such as Bingo and Uno.

A has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and requires 24-hour care. She is a wheelchair user and requires assistance with all activities of daily living including full personal care and administration of medication. A is PEG fed and eats a small amount orally.

You will be supported by A’s Case Manager, Mum and the wider team.

About You:

You will ideally have minimum of one years’ experience working in Care but please do apply if you do not have this and feel you have transferrable skills as training will be provided. You will be someone who works well within a team and have good communication skills. You will be kind and have an empathetic and friendly personality.

You will be a driver as the family do not live near public transport, and you may take A out with another member of the team in her automatic wheelchair adapted vehicle.

You will be a person who enjoys taking A out for a walk in her wheelchair and playing games. Part of the role will also be to get her ready for bed towards the end of your shift.

Pay:

£17 per hour

Hours / Shifts:

The main hours for this role are:

Saturdays 15:00 to 22:00 (7 hours)

There is a possibility of the following addtional hours but do still apply if you are only able to undertake Saturday hours:

Monday to Thursday 19:00 to 22:00

Waking Nights 22:00 to 08:00
