Finding Your Keepers!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer sponsorship on any of our roles & therefore cannot accept any applications that require this.
Our fun-loving client (J) is definitely a ‘cheeky chappy’ who is looking for Support Workers who will embrace his sense of fun to join his small care team. J is currently learning to play the drums but also loves listening to music, karaoke and having impromptu discos at home. If this sounds like something you would love to join in with, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role:
J lives in a fully adapted home with his parents, younger brother and two friendly dogs. He attends a SEN school and is supported in achieving his therapy goals by his small care team.
J has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. As a result, he requires support with all aspects of his daily living including personal care, medication, feeding/cutting up his food. You will also be required to help in preparing snacks and meals, but J enjoys cooking so he may join you in the kitchen!
J is verbal and is in fact extremely chatty, he has a fun and engaging personality and is loved by all his carers. He is learning to play the drums and likes listening to music and karaoke. He also enjoys swimming and using his phone or tablet to play games. He enjoys being out in the community so the Support Worker, accompanied by another adult, would need to drive his wheelchair adapted automatic vehicle.
Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given along with supervision and support.
About You:
You will have a minimum of 1 year’s care experience and will support our client by following his care plan and implementing his therapy programme.
It is essential that you are a driver and are able to drive our client’s wheelchair adapted automatic vehicle. In order for you to feel confident driving if you have not previously done so, full support and instruction will be given. If you are travelling by public transport, there are good links to West Byfleet and Woking stations.
You will be comfortable working in an environment where family pets roam freely and you will have no allergies with animals.
You will be flexible, reliable, patient and have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a young person with additional needs and supporting him whilst helping to develop his skills.
Our client has two friendly dogs so you will have to be comfortable working around animals and have no allergies.
