Job Title:       Support Worker/Teaching Assistant

Location:       Kirkham, Lanceaster

Shifts:            40 Hours per week including some evenings and weekends.

 

Pay:                    £24,000 per annum

 

The Role:

We have an exciting and unusual opportunity to support a lovely, cheerful 7 year old who has Cerebral Palsy with associated complex care needs.  This is an extremely rewarding role where you will be involved in developing our client’s full potential.

In this role, you will be providing support both at school and at home. 

Our client attends a local Special School and you will support him in all aspects of his learning and participation in school life.  A key part of your role is the development and facilitation of his communication skills as well as maintaining physical health and optimising his abilities as he has great potential for cognitive and physical development. 

At home, you will work closely with other members of the team and family in providing the highest standards of care and support and will be supported and trained by a very experienced team of professionals. 

About You:

You will be a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible person.  We are looking for someone who is positive, imaginative and can provide support with a fun approach. 

Experience of working with children with physical and/or learning disabilities is desirable but more important is your aptitude and desire to work with a child with complex needs. A person who can follow guidance as well as use their own initiative, you will be able to build a rapport with our client, his family and the team. 

 

Support Workers will be punctual and respectful of working in a family home and environment.

An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement, criminal convictions may not necessarily prevent employment.

BINGLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE, BD16

Job Title:       Female* Night Support Worker (2 X Positions available)

Location:       Bingley, West Yorkshire, BD16

Hours:           Either 31 hours or 41 hours and 20 minutes  

 

Shifts:           3 or 4 nights a week from 8.50 pm to 7.10 am

Pay:                       £10.40 per hour

 

The Role:

Are you interested in being a vital part of our expanding care team?  Our clients are two delightful young people in their 20s living in their lively family home with parents, younger siblings and pets.  Both have Cerebral Palsy and complex physical disabilities needing complete assistance with all activities of daily living. 

Both young people need overnight monitoring for safety in regard to postural management, epilepsy (for one), gastrostomy feed management (for one) and management of a simple and straight-forward non-invasive ventilator (for one).  CCTV coverage of the two young people’s rooms allows you to move around the house safely.  You will need to be able to stay alert and active during the night.

For some of the nights you will be working with another Support Worker.  You will be well supported by the team and will receive full training in all aspects of their individual care. 

About You:

You will be a friendly and positive person, flexible about the nights you work and who wants to deliver a high standard of care and support. We are looking for someone with common sense who can use their initiative as well as follow guidance.

Experience of working with young people with additional needs is desirable but more important is your aptitude and desire to make a difference.  You will be a person who can build a rapport with our clients, their family and the team.

A full, clean UK driver’s licence is essential as you will drive the client’s adapted vehicles.

An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement, criminal convictions may not necessarily prevent employment.

BINGLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE, BD16

Job Title:       Female* Day Support Workers (3 x Positions available)

Location:       Bingley, West Yorkshire, BD16

Shifts:           Various days either 7:00 am to 4:00 pm / 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm / long shift 7:00 am

                             to 9:00 pm.  Need to be available to work every other weekend.  Rota is set two

                             months in advance.  Extra hours may be available to cover for other members of

                             the team.

Hours:              Hours per week: full time (37.5 hours per week) – three positions available

Pay:                         £10.40 per hour

The Role:

Are you interested in being a vital part of our expanding care team?  Our clients are two delightful young people in their twenties living in their lively family home with parents, younger siblings and pets.  They are both bright and cheerful and very much enjoy the company of others socialising in restaurants and cafes and participating in arts and crafts, watching films and football.  Both have Cerebral Palsy and complex physical disabilities and need complete assistance with all activities of daily living.  Both are non-verbal but are able to communicate their needs and requirements via other communication methods. 

Mainly working with another Support Worker, you will be well supported by an established core care team and will receive full training. 

About You:

You are a cheerful and positive individual with a good sense of humour.  We are looking for people who above all, want to ensure these two young people have days filled with happiness and fun whilst providing a high standard of care and support.

You are someone who has common sense and can use their initiative – a patient person who will support these two young people and allow them the time and space to express their own thoughts, wishes and personality. 

Experience of working with young people with additional needs is desirable but more important is your aptitude and desire to make a difference.  You will be a flexible person who is able to build a rapport with our clients, their family and the team.
